چکیده

This study aims to clarify the contributions of pre-event water storm runoff using environmental tracers (dissolved inorganic ions and stable isotopes) in a tropical forested catchment Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. We performed intensive sampling campaigns stream throughfall for two events July November 2018. The discharge showed low peak 0.13 mm/h event 1, with 18 mm total rainfall, whereas 2, 50 quick 1.17 slow recovery 0.39 mm/h. nitrate concentration during 2 was higher than that 1. temporal variations indicate subsurface provided dominant stormflow 2. Hydrograph separations silicate as tracer revealed component hydrograph (58–98%). Our results suggest plays an essential role headwaters humid regions.

Development of a simple, catchment-scale, rainfall- evapotranspiration-runoff model

Representation of the hydrological interaction between the land surface and the atmosphere requires considerable improvement, particularly for predicting evapotranspiration feedbacks for use in models of the general circulation (GCMs) of the atmosphere. The predictive model developed here attempts to use a water balance approach that extracts information from the masses of catchment-scale time ...

Stormwater Runoff Pollutant Loading Distributions and Their Correlation with Rainfall and Catchment Characteristics in a Rapidly Industrialized City

Fast urbanization and industrialization in developing countries result in significant stormwater runoff pollution, due to drastic changes in land-use, from rural to urban. A three-year study on the stormwater runoff pollutant loading distributions of industrial, parking lot and mixed commercial and residential catchments was conducted in the Tongsha reservoir watershed of Dongguan city, a typic...

A semi-distributed approach to rainfall-runoff modelling--a case study in a snow affected catchment

A semi-distributed hydrological model was applied to a small forested catcment in southern Finland. The aim was to demonstrate how differences in terrain properties could be taken into account in modelling runoff generation, and to test how well the presented model simulated streamflow with only limited calibration. Modelling was based on subdivision of a catchment into topographically similar ...

Stochastic characteristics of rainfall-runoff processes in southeast Botswana

This study was carried out chiefly for hydrological characterization of the rainfall-runoff processes of southeast Botswana. It is shown that the direct runoff component behaves as a memoryless process while the baseflow component, where this is present, is associated with first order memory. Interaction between rainfall and runoff processes on a monthly basis is found to be highly stochastic, ...

Calibrating a rainfall-runoff model for a catchment with limited data

A rainfall-runoff model has been established to simulate streamflow in a regulated catchment in southern India, where data were limited in relation to the basin's complexity. Within the basin is a network of hydropower reservoirs and tunnels that complicate the relationships between observed and natural flows. The basin is affected by two monsoons that dominate in different areas and can only b...
